#11 Opportunities and barriers to lowering process heat emissions

In January 2019 the government, through the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, consulted with the public on methods for reducing emissions from the industrial sector by asking for feed back on a technical paper titled Process Heat in New Zealand: Opportunities and barriers to lowering emissions.

#12 Accelerating renewable energy and energy efficiency

In December 2019 the government, through the Ministry of Business, Innovation, and Employment, sought feedback on discussion paper Accelerating renewable energy and energy efficiency.

This paper looked at encouraging energy efficiency and the uptake of renewable fuels in industry and accelerating renewable electricity generation and infrastructure.

#13 Phasing out fossil fuels in process heat

In April 2021 the government, through the Ministry for the Environment, released a consultation document, Phasing out fossil fuels in process heat, asking for public feedback on proposals to reduce emissions in the industrial sector.

#14 Climate Change Commission draft advice consultation

The Climate Change Commission released its draft advice for consultation in late February 2021. This draft advice was broad in its scope, but covered the energy sector, and areas on which the government had previously consulted.
